Coronation, Jubilee and Commemoration Medals

Medals are often issued in commemoration of important national and international events, particularly to mark the coronation or jubilee of a monarch. British coronation and jubilee medals, which were awarded to UK and Commonwealth government officials, public servants, and those in military service, include the King George VI Coronation Medal (1937), Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Medal (1953), and the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal (1977). New Zealand have also produced their own commemoration awards including the 1990 Commemoration Medal.
