Cadet Forces Medal
The New Zealand Cadet Forces (NZCF) is a uniformed voluntary organisation providing military-based training, development and leadership to young people aged 13 to 18 years. The NZCF comprise the Sea Cadet Corps, the New Zealand Cadet Corps and the Air Training Corps. Units are staffed by NZCF Officers and run in partnership with the New Zealand Defence Force and its three services. Cadet Force officers are eligible for the Cadet Forces Medal.

Cadet Forces Medal
The Cadet Forces Medal is awarded to Commissioned Officers of the UK and New Zealand Cadet Forces in recognition of long and exemplary service. Instituted in 1950, it is awarded to officers after 12 years of continuous service. Additional clasps are awarded for further continuous service: 8 years in the case of the New Zealand Cadet Forces. The ribbon has a green background, yellow edges, narrow stripes of dark blue, red and light blue. It should be worn with the dark blue stripe further from the left shoulder than the strip of light blue.
